Problem
When the McAfee Agent is configured to update from the Master Repository, it actually uses the Agent Handler to which it reports. If the McAfee Agent is assigned an Agent Handler group that only has the Virtual DNS name configured, the Agent has no IP address to contact the Agent Handler. As a result, tasks such as update and deployment tasks fail when you try to use the Master Repository. The script engine can't move on to the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the Agent Handler, if the IP address is missing. According to the ePO Product Guide, you must provide the following settings:
SolutionYou must configure both the Virtual DNS name and the Virtual IP address:
Workaround
Configure a dummy virtual IP address for the Agent Handler group. It does not have to be the actual IP address of an Agent Handler. Use an IP address in your address space, which you know is unused. The tasks using the Master Repository function correctly:
