To enable IPE Debug logging from the
DXL Broker running on the Trellix Linux Operating System (TLOS), perform the following steps:
- Connect to the DXL Server or Broker with the root user and password.
- Open the log4j.properties file. Type the following command and press Enter:
vi /opt/McAfee/dxlbroker/ipe/conf/log4j.properties
- Scroll down to the following lines:
#log4j.logger.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=debug, file
#log4j.additivity.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=false
- Enable debugging for the IPE.log by removing the hashes:
log4j.logger.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=debug, file
log4j.additivity.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=false
- Save the file. Type the following:
ESC :wq
- Restart the DXL Broker. Type the following command and press Enter:
sudo service dxlbroker restart
- Troubleshoot the issue.
- Disable the logging:
- Edit /opt/McAfee/dxlbroker/ipe/conf/log4j.properties.
- Add the hash back.
- Save the changes.
To enable IPE Debug logging from the
DXL Broker on Windows for troubleshooting issues, perform the steps below:
- Open the log4j.properties file at C:\Program Files\McAfee\dxlbroker\ipe\conf\ in a text editor of your choice.
- Locate the entries below:
#log4j.logger.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=debug, file
#log4j.additivity.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=false
- Remove the hash as shown below:
log4j.logger.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=debug, file
log4j.additivity.com.mcafee.dxl.ipe.ext.connector.databusproxy=false
- Save the changes.
- Restart the following services:
McAfee DXL Broker
McAfee DXL Integration Pattern Engine
- Reproduce the issue.
- Disable the logging:
- Add the hashes back to log4j.properties.
- Save the changes.
- Restart the following services:
McAfee DXL Broker
McAfee DXL Integration Pattern Engine
