With the release of Sensor software (M-Series 9.1.3.16, VM Series 9.1.7.25) and NTBA software 9.1.3.63 on
March 17, 2020, the Sensor to NTBA communication channel is encrypted using
AES128_GCM_SHA256. Unencrypted operation is no longer possible after you upgrade to NTBA 9.1.3.63.
You
must upgrade your Sensors to 9.1.3.16 (M-Series) and 9.1.7.25 (VM-Series)
before you upgrade to the NTBA 9.1.3.63 release.
If you don't want to upgrade the Sensor software, manually enable Sensor encryption.
- Open a Sensor command-line session.
- Type set amchannelencryption and press Enter.
When you update both the Sensor software and NTBA software as listed, you don't need to perform other actions.
After you complete the upgrade, communication between the Sensor and NTBA appliance functions normally.
