Automatic Steps
NOTE: Only an ePolicy Orchestrator administrator can perform these steps.
Solidcore Rules
- Download and save the Execution Control Rules and McAfee Rules Group ZIP archives from this article.
- Extract the .xml content from each ZIP archive.
- Go to Configuration, Solidcore Rules.
- Click Import and navigate to the place where you saved the ZIP archives.
- Select Execution_Control_Rules_v1.xml and select the Overwrite duplicate groups option.
- Click Import.
- Select McAfee_RuleGroup_v1.xml and select the Overwrite duplicate groups option.
- After import, inspect the server task log for a successful import.
- Use an existing or create a server task Solidcore: Rule Group Sanity Check and verify the results.
Application Control Rules (Windows) - McAfee Default
If any endpoint has the McAfee Default policy assigned, force the policy update on that endpoint using the Wake Up Agents button.
Application Control Rules (Windows) - McAfee Application (McAfee Default)
If any endpoint has the McAfee Applications (McAfee Default) policy assigned, force the policy update on that endpoint using the Wake Up Agents button.
Application Control Rules (Windows) - Custom policy
- If an endpoint has a custom policy assigned that contains McAfee, Execution Control Rules or both, force the policy update on that endpoint using the Wake Up Agents button.
- If an endpoint has a custom policy assigned that:
- Doesn't contain the following exclusion rules mention in step 7, add them.
- Doesn't contain the updaters rules mentioned in step 5, add them.
- Assign and apply these policies to the endpoints.
