Environment

Endpoint Security for Linux Firewall (ENSLFW) 10.6.x

Problem

ENSLFW rules are incorrectly being applied during policy enforcement and might enforce a partial policy.

Cause

ENSLFW fails to register properly with Agent Msgbus, which results in a partial policy enforcement. This issue results in a local Firewall policy that includes default rules plus partial custom rule changes. This partial Firewall rule policy causes network and application issues because the full Firewall policy isn't correctly enforced on the client.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ENSLFW 10.6.6.

Workaround

After the policy enforcement issue occurs, perform another policy enforcement by running /opt/McAfee/agent/bin/cmdagent -e to correctly enforce the policy.
