Unable to see restricted tags when logged in as a user that has permissions dynamically assigned
Technical Articles ID:
KB91946
Last Modified: 2023-08-01 04:51:42 Etc/GMT Environment
ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10 Update 1–4
Problem
When you restrict a tag to a specific permission set, any user who has this permission set assigned dynamically isn't able to see the tag when navigating to the Tag Catalog. Tags that aren't restricted to a specific permission set are visible. If you log on to the ePO console using a user account that has this same permission set assigned manually, the tag is visible in the Tag Catalog. Cause
There's an issue with the product. Dynamically assigned permission sets aren't populated in the table used by the tag restrictions to view users and permissions.
Solution
This issue is resolved in ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Update 5, which is available from the Product Downloads site. NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number to access the update. To view other known and resolved issues, see KB90382 - ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.x Known Issues. Workaround
Modify the user account in question, and manually assign the permission set so that the tag is restricted.
