Restore of ePO from a snapshot that contains the MOVE AntiVirus Common extension fails

Problem

A restore of ePO from a snapshot that contains the MOVE AntiVirus Common extension fails with the following errors in the core.restore log file:

System Change

OVF packages are checked in to the SVM Repository section of MOVE AntiVirus Deployment.
The following folder exceeds 2.1 GB in size: <ePO_install_path>\Server\extensions\installed\DCGS_4000\4.x.x.xxx\webapp\move-sva-repo\

Cause

The MOVE AntiVirus Common extension (DC__GS__4000) adds an SVM Repository feature that allows the user to check in OVF templates for use with MOVE. These templates are about 1.5 GB each and are stored in the \Server\extensions\installed\DCGS_4000\4.x.x.xxx\webapp\move-sva-repo\ folder. When the size of this directory exceeds 2.1 GB, the Disaster Recovery Snapshot Server task fails. The MOVE AntiVirus Common extension data is not stored in the Content column of the OrionSnapshot table. The Content column data type of the OrionSnapshot table in SQL is "image." Microsoft defines "image" as "Variable-length binary data from 0 through 2^31-1 (2,147,483,647) bytes."

Despite this failure, the Server Task Log reports that the Disaster Recovery Snapshot Server task has completed successfully. Restoration of ePO from a snapshot with a null value in the OrionSnapshot table Content column fails.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePO 5.10.0 Update 13, which is available from either the Software Catalog or the Product Downloads site.

To validate the integrity of the current recovery snapshot in SQL:

Log on to SQL Server Management Studio.
Run the following query on the ePO database:

select * from OrionSnapshot where TargetExtension = 'DC__GS__4000'

If the value stored in the Content column is null, the snapshot is invalid.
