Microsoft Office 2010 and 2007 Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2007 Trust Center Microsoft Antivirus API
Problem
Outlook Trust Center can report an inconsistent Antivirus status under Tools, Trust Center, Programmatic Access. When this issue occurs, systems with valid ENS installations might report either of the following: Cause
Outlook Trust Center is not a supported feature of ENS. Outlook can sometimes detect the antivirus program via Windows Security Center. So, if the Security Center service is stopped, Outlook might not recognize ENS. NOTE: If your Windows 10 version is earlier than 1709, this issue occurs unless you apply the Windows Security app Microsoft KB: Solution
ENS does not currently support Outlook Trust Center. Outlook users are sent to the Windows Security Center for the status of the antivirus product. ENS continues to correctly scan emails regardless of the status shown in the Outlook Trust Center. NOTE: Our customers report that starting the Windows Security Center service often allows Outlook to show the correct status in the Trust Center. Customers can use the following workaround, but there is no guarantee that this workaround resolves the issue. To submit a new product idea, go to the Enterprise Customer Product Ideas page.
