- Connect a monitor and keyboard to the SIEM device.
- Unplug all Ethernet cables from the back of the SIEM device. This step is needed to make the ports go dark.
- From the monitor and keyboard, hit ESC or ALT+F1, and from the LCD menu, select "flash NIC." Use it to flash Management Interface 1.
NOTE: This step doesn't change the firmware. It flashes the LEDs of the selected port.
- While the LEDs flash, look at the back of the unit and remember which port has the blinking LED. This port is MGMT 1 and it's the port that the Ethernet cable is plugged into. The port might not be in the anticipated location. As long as "Management 1" is selected in the FLASH NIC menu, the correct port lights up.
- After you plug in the Ethernet cable, you can confirm connectivity in the following way:
- Use ALT+F2 from the keyboard and monitor.
- Use a password of w3e4r5t6 to open the FIPS menu.
- Select the PING option and try to ping the default gateway.
- Retry keying or logging into the device over the network.
