You can add the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality to the DLP Discover server. First, check the DLP OCR add-on package (
DLP_OCRAddon_XX_X_XXX_X.zip) into ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO). Then, deploy it to the system that the DLP Discover server is installed on. If you prefer, manually install the add-on, copy the
DLP_OCRAddon_XX_X_XXX_X.zip file to the DLP Discover server, and run
DLP_OCRAddon.msi.
This file is in the package
.zip file.
When the OCR add-on is installed, it merges with the DLP Discover server installation. The add-on doesn't show up in the Windows Programs and Features list of installed applications. In older versions of Windows, the list of installed applications are in the Add and Remove Programs. To validate installation of the add-on, check the System Properties page and view all the relevant installed packages.
The OCR add-on is provided as a separate package that's installed on top of the existing DLP Discover server. When the DLP Discover server software is removed or upgraded, the package is removed. When you install or upgrade the DLP Discover server software, you must reinstall the appropriate OCR add-on package.
NOTES:
- By default, the DLP OCR feature is enabled. To enable and disable it, change the policy (Policy Catalog, Server Configuration, Text Extractor, Optical Character Recognition (OCR)).
- Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, and Thai are not supported with the OCR add-on.
