Create a Performance Data Collector set report for an Agent Handler (AH):
NOTES:
- You need access to the server that runs your AHs.
- You require administrator rights.
- Log on to the AH servers as an administrator.
- In the bottom left of your screen, click the Windows start icon.
- To start the performance monitor in 32-bit administrator mode, in the input field, type mmc /32 perfmon.msg
- In the Performance Monitor window, on the left side pane under Monitoring Tools, select Performance Monitor.
- In the right-pane, click the green plus + icon.
- In the Add Counters window under the Available Counters section, take the following actions:
- Expand ePolicy Orchestrator Server by clicking the + sign next to it.
- Select the following items:
- Completed Agent Requests/sec
- Open ePO Agent Connections
- Processed Events/sec
- Click Add to place the selected items above in the Add Counters pane on the right.
- Expand Network Interface.
- Select the following items:
- Bytes Received/sec
- Bytes Sent/sec
- Bytes Total/sec
- Current Bandwidth
- Click Add to place the above selected items in the Add Counters pane on the right.
- Expand Processor and select %Processor Time", and then click Add to add to the pane on the right.
- Click OK.
- Right-click on the performance monitor graph and select Properties.
- Click the General tab.
- Under the Graph Elements, set the following:
- Sample every to 150
- Duration to 300 seconds
- Click OK.
- In the left pane, right-click Performance Monitor and select New, Data Collector Set.
- In the Name field, type AH Data Collector Set and then click Next.
- In the Root Directory field, type the location, for example c:\, where you want the data to be stored. Click Next.
- Click Finish. You now see the AH Data Collector Set.
To rename the output file:
- In the left pane, expand Data Collector Sets, User Defined and select AH Data Collector Set.
- In the right pane, right-click System Monitor Log and select Properties.
- Change the name in the Log file name field. The default log file name is System Monitor log.
- Click OK.
To generate the performance monitor data set file that you defined under c:\
- In the left pane, expand Data Collector Sets, User Defined.
- To start generating the Performance data report, do either of the following:
- Right-click AH Data Collector Set, and then click Start.
- In the right pane on the toolbar, click the right chevron > (green icon)
Once the performance report starts generating, you see the output file under
c: root.
- Let the log run for 24–48 hours.
After collecting enough data:
- Open Performance Monitor.
- To stop generating the performance data report, do either of the following:
- Expand Data Collector Sets, User Defined, and then right-click AH Data Collector Set and select Stop.
- From the right pane in the toolbar, click the stop icon (black box icon).
- The data collected from the specified folder (in our example (C:\) is stored in the Root System Monitor Log.blg file, and can be opened with PerfMon.
When you need to collect more data, create a file name and start the same data collector set again.
Delete the collected data set when no longer needed.
