The ENS Firewall is enabled by default when installed. Follow the instructions below to customize the ENS Firewall package using the ENSPD tool to set the ENS Firewall to be disabled by default.
- Download the ENSPD tool on a system with ENS installed in standalone mode (unmanaged by ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)). For details, see KB86438 - How to use the Endpoint Security Package Designer.
- Open the ENSPD wizard.
- Specify the source package file (the standalone ENS package .zip file).
- Specify the destination folder for the custom output package.
- Optionally, specify a custom file name for the output package.
- Click Next.
- On the Modify Package screen, click Edit Settings. The ENS console opens.
- Open the ENS Firewall policy settings by clicking the Firewall feature.
- Deselect the Enable Firewall option.
- Click Apply.
- Close or minimize the ENS console.
- On the Modify Package screen, click Next.
- On the Select Modules and Settings screen, set the Firewall module settings to Custom. Set other ENS modules settings according to your preferences.
- Click Next.
- On the Add Executables screen, add any executables to start either pre-install or post-install and click Next.
- On the Create Package screen, verify the package information details, and click Create to finish.
- Install the custom ENS package:
- On a standalone (unmanaged by ePO) system, extract the .zip file and run SetupEP.exe with administrator permissions.
- On an ePO-managed system, unzip the custom output package. You see individual package files for Threat Prevention (TP), Web Control (WC), Firewall (FW), and Common modules. Check in these modules to ePO.
