System crash (blue screen) with Bug Check 7E when using Citrix Provisioning Services

Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.x
MOVE Antivirus Multi-platform (MOVE AV MP) 4.8.0.186 and later

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS)

Problem

A system crash (blue screen) occurs after you successfully install or upgrade to either of the following:

ENS 10.x
MOVE AV MP 4.8.0.186 and later

After a system restart, the computer enters a reboot cycle after it shows a system crash (blue screen) with the following crash details:

Bugcheck 7E
Error: Stop: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF8800217F198, 0xFFFFF880009A8F68, 0xFFFFF880009A87D0)
CLASSPNP.SYS - Address FFFFF8800217F198 base at FFFFF8800217E000, DateStamp 4ce7929b MER mfeclnk.sys

This issue is seen on Citrix XenApp clients running the Citrix File System Minifilter PVS driver.

The following driver versions are older than PVS 7.6:

cfsdep Citrix File System Minifilter XC
c:\windows\system32\drivers\cfsdep.sys
cfsdep2 Citrix File System Minifilter PVS
c:\windows\system32\drivers\cfsdep2.sys

System Change

You installed or upgraded to ENS 10.x or MOVE AV MP 4.8.0.186 or later.

Solution

Upgrade Citrix PVS to version 7.6 or later before you install or upgrade your ENS or MOVE AV MP installation.
