Summary

During a silent installation of MNE to the Mac FileVault system using a third-party deployment tool (such as Casper), users are prompted at the end of the installation. They see a McAfee ePO Remote Provisioning Tool window that requests the following three parameters:

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) address
Username
Password

Simply closing the window without populating any of the fields allows the silent installation of MNE to succeed. This article provides the script command to suppress this window to complete a full silent installation.

Solution

To suppress the start of the ePO Remote Provisioning Tool, add the following line to the third-party installation script:

touch "/tmp/.mcafee_provision.tmp"
