"Error.-3007" seen on the Master Repository Check In Package screen

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x

Problem

The following error is displayed on the Master Repository Check In Package page:

Error.-3007

The Orion.log file records the following error:

ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-42] service.ScheduledTaskManagerImpl - execution of task Update Master Repository failed
com.mcafee.orion.core.cmd.CommandException: error.-3007

You might also see the following error:

ERROR [core-CommandInvoker-thread-9] engine.RepoLock - Unable to enter install mode, repository is already locked by another task

Cause

This issue occurs when another task locks the repository.

Solution 1

Depending on what's locking the repository, you might need to wait until the locking task is complete. Otherwise, there can be another server task that's in a hung state, or the repository table has become 'stuck' in a locked state.

To see if there's another task that might be using the repository, view the Server Task log from the ePO console, and filter using "In Progress" tasks. Other tasks include the following:

Pull task
Replication Task
Disaster Recovery Snapshot task

Solution 2

If you're unable to find another 'In Progress' task that's running, you can restart the ePO services to release the locked state on the repositories.

To restart the ePO server services, perform the steps below:

Press Windows+R, type services.msc, and click OK.
Right-click the following services and select Restart:

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Application Server
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Server
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Event Parser
Close the services window.

Workaround

If the solution above doesn't resolve the issue, rebuild the Master Repository using the steps provided in KB53736 - How to rebuild the ePolicy Orchestrator Master Repository.
