The PoP counter increases or decreases because of the addition of a new PoP, the decommissioning of an existing PoP, or a new PoP that replaces an old PoP for better performance.
- An increase usually means a new PoP has been added to the overall Cloud infrastructure.
- A decrease means that we've decommissioned or replaced the PoP with another PoP that has better performance.
POPs are decommissioned if we offer an equivalent with better performance for the same region. The replacement is usually a high-speed peering data center with a direct connection to an internet exchange node.
