Test Real Protect scanning:
You can test that the Real Protect scanning features in ENS ATP are installed correctly, and systems can communicate with the Trellix cloud for detections.
See the "Test Real Protect scanning" section of the
Endpoint Security 10.7 Product Guide.
NOTE: Before testing, verify the following to use the test files:
- Whether the ENS Platform (Common) and ENS ATP use the same product version
- Whether there was a system restart after you installed ENS ATP
- Whether the ENS ATP policy is set to use the default "Balanced" rule group assignment or the "Security" rule group assignment
- Whether the test system has connectivity to realprotect1.mcafee.com
- Whether the test files haven't had an Enterprise Override of "Known Trusted" assigned within the Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) reputations page, if TIE connectivity is available
The test procedure uses test files to check Real Protect client and cloud-based detections. This article contains only the test files referenced in the instructions:
- Use the test file RealProtect-TestFile_11001.zip if the Real Protect content version on your system starts with version 1.1.11XXX.
- Use the test file RealProtect-Testfile.zip if the Real Protect content version on your system starts with version 1.1.10XXX.

Test Credential Theft Protection:
You can test whether the Credential Theft Protection (CTP) feature is working correctly by using the following files in the "Attachment"
section of this article:
- Use the test file CTP-32Bit-TestFile.zip for Windows 32-bit operating systems.
- Use the test file CTP-64bit-TestFile.zip for Windows 64-bit operating systems.
To test CTP in Beta, you must point to the Real Protect Beta content as described in
KB93231 - How to test Real Protect Beta content, with ENS ATP 10.7.0.2059 (10.7.0 July 2020 Update) or later.
