Environment

Endpoint Security (ENS) 10.x

Symantec Endpoint Protection

Problem

Symantec Endpoint Protection is running on a system with ENS. Applications might fail to function correctly, or there might be performance issues.

Cause

Symantec Endpoint Protection includes the following features:

Generic Exploit Mitigation (buffer overflow protection)
Intrusion Prevention
Antivirus protection
Host firewall

There might be conflict with the features that perform a similar function included with ENS.

Solution

Remove the third-party antivirus or antimalware software. ENS does not support the use of third-party security solutions that provide the same functionality as the components of ENS.
