External mouse and keyboard don't respond at preboot when an HP EliteBook 1030 G1 is docked

Docking Station 2013

Problem

The following devices fail to function when the HP EliteBook 1030 G1 is connected to the docking station:

External mice
External keyboard

This failure is observed when the external devices are connected by USB.

Cause

There's an issue with USB-connected devices during preboot authentication (PBA) on the models stated above when docked.

Solution

Set up a policy specifically for these models, and enable the option Always enable preboot USB support.

IMPORTANT: The above option is not recommended for wide-spread use. Instead, it must only be applied to systems on an "as needed" basis.
