The cause may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The user's profile is redirected to a network location and the policy option Scan on Network is disabled in the Scan Policy.
- Permission on the share is configured incorrectly.
When a CIFS share resides in the same directory as user profiles, the EICAR file isn't detected on the user desktops. When it's placed in another directory on the same system, policies are set to scan Network drives, and Scan File types is set to All (no
.txt exclusions), it's detected and deleted successfully.
