Environment

Endpoint Security (ENS) Firewall 10.x

Summary

Some brands of Wireless Display Adapters show that they are using IP address 0.0.0.0, which can cause issues with some firewall providers.

Problem

ENS Firewall 10.x is unable to create a firewall rule for the IP address 0.0.0.0. This IP address is a special reserved address that signifies all IPv4 addresses on the local system.

Cause

In the Internet Protocol Version 4, the address 0.0.0.0 is a non-routable meta-address used to designate an invalid, unknown, or non-applicable target.

Solution

To submit a new product idea, go to the Enterprise Customer Product Ideas page.

Workaround

Devices that require this network configuration must create the Firewall Rule policy using Address type: Range using 0.0.0.0 - 0.0.0.1.
