Drive Encryption (DE) 7.x

Problem

The background image in a custom preboot theme unexpectedly displays with a black backdrop instead of the expected white backdrop.

The logos and images of the custom theme in the background.png file appear correctly in the preboot authentication screen, but the backdrop is in the wrong color.

Cause

The background.png file was created with the Transparency option enabled.

Solution

Remove the transparency content by saving the .png file as a .jpeg file, and then resaving as a .png:

Open background.png using the Windows Paint application.
Save the file as a .jpeg file.
Click OK when you're prompted with the message: Any transparency is lost if you save this picture. Do you want to continue?
Open the saved .jpeg file.
Resave the .jpeg file as a .png file.
Upload the new .png file using Manage Themes in Server Settings, Drive Encryption.
