ProblemDLP Endpoint performs the "prerequisites" check during the installation process.
If redistributables are already installed when DLP is installed, the redistributables are reinstalled. A Windows program compatibility assistant views the installed programs list, sees no change, and concludes that the installation has failed. The pop-up message indicating the failure appears. This issue doesn't happen when you double-click the DLP Installer. CauseThe issue happens during a silent installation. That is, when a redistributable is already installed and Windows Program Compatibility Assistance detects that the installer is running. No application is added to the installed software list because it's already installed. So, Windows Program Compatibility Assistance concludes that the installation has failed.
SolutionTo resolve the issue, do the following before installing DLP Endpoint:
This procedure makes sure that the Windows Program Compatibility Assistant doesn't view the installation of redistributables as a failed installation.
