To generate the MOVE AV Multi-Platform SVA Manager MER file:
NOTE: The following steps include instructions to enable debug level logging. You must only perform Step 2 to enable debug-level logging on MOVE AV Multi-Platform 3.6.x when requested by Technical Support. Debug-level logging is enabled by default in MOVE AV Multi-Platform 4.0 and later.
- Log on to the MOVE SVA Console:
User name: svaadmin
Password: <ENTER_PASSWORD>
- Set the log level for the SVA Manager in the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) console:
NOTE: DEBUG mode is enabled by default in MOVE AntiVirus Multi-Platform 4.x. If you use this version, you can safely skip this step.
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Click Menu, Policy, Policy Catalog.
- Select MOVE AV [Multi-Platform] SVA Manager in the Product drop-down list, and General in the Category drop-down list.
- Select the policy assigned to the SVA Manager.
- Click the MOVE SVA Manager Settings tab.
- Click the link Click to view Advanced Options.
- Change the Log Level to Debug.
- Click Save.
- Apply the policy.
- Replicate the issue.
- Navigate to the directory that contains the script. Type the following command and press Enter:
cd /opt/McAfee/movesvamanager/
- The SVA Manager MER script requires elevated permissions. Type the following command and provide the password:
sudo –s
Enter password for svaadmin: <ENTER_PASSWORD>
- Run the SVA Manager MER script. Type the following command and press Enter:
./move-svamanager-mer.sh
- When the SVA Manager MER script completes, you see the following:
SVA Manager MER file created at: /opt/McAfee/movesvamanager/SVA-Manager_MSM_MER_<epoch time>.tar.gz
IMPORTANT: Make sure that you disable debug logging after the MER script completes.
You can use any SFTP client, such as WinSCP or Filezilla to copy the SVA Manager MER file from the system.
