Endpoint Security Web Control functional reports are not accurate
Technical Articles ID:
KB82371
Last Modified: 2023-01-27 17:58:02 Etc/GMT Environment
Endpoint Security (ENS) Web Control 10.x Google Chrome Microsoft Internet Explorer Mozilla Firefox Problem
ENS Web Control reports in ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) show a functional status for ENS Web Control in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. The report status can be True, Indeterminate, or False. But, on some systems, the computer can incorrectly report back a functional status of False. (For example, where ENS Web Control functions in Internet Explorer.)
Cause
Because of changes in the browsers, the functional status in a browser might not be accurate when viewed in ePO reports.
Solution
A future version of browser protection plans to remove these functional values from being displayed. In the interim, implement the following workaround. To receive email notification when this article is updated, click Subscribe on the right side of the page. You must be logged on to subscribe.
WorkaroundUse the ENS Web Control property enabled. Or, check the status of the ENS Web Control extension in ePO, which is correctly reported.
NOTE: For instructions to enable the ENS Web Control extension in browsers using Active Directory group policy, and to prevent users from uninstalling the ENS Web Control extension, see: KB87568 - Web Control browser extension must be enabled by the user Affected ProductsLanguages:This article is available in the following languages: |
