Error: Extension EEADMIN version 7.1.0389 is not compatible with this version of ePolicy Orchestrator

Environment

Drive Encryption (DE) 7.1 Extension
ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.1

Problem

The administrator is unable to check in the DE 7.1 extension.
When this issue occurs, you see the following error on the ePO console:

NOTE: The administrator can successfully check in the DE 7.1 package.

Cause

The ePO server fails to update the Download Software Product List because the Download Product Software List Server Task is disabled.

Solution 1

Enable and run the Download Product Software List server task.

Log on to the ePO console
Click Menu, Automation, Server Task.
Enable the Server Task Download Product Software List.
Run the Download Product Software List task.
Check in the DE 7.1 Extension.

Solution 2

The following procedure is required when the ePO 5.1 Server doesn't have Internet access and requires a manual procedure to update the PCL. The process is also documented in a Help page in the ePO 5.1 console.

Log on to the ePO 5.0.1 console.
Click Menu, Configuration, Server Settings.
Click Product Compatibility List in the Setting Categories column.

NOTE: The default setting is Enabled. However, if you set this to Disabled, the XML file can be uploaded directly into ePO 5.0.1 by browsing on your local file system. The file link is located on that same page.
