Drive Encryption (DE) 7.x

Samsung Notebook Model XE700T1C (BIOS in UEFI mode)
Microsoft Windows 8

Problem

After you successfully install DE 7.x on the Samsung Notebook Model XE700T1C, the system displays the following error:

Terminate called after throwing an instance of 'EPE_exception' what(): [0XEE0A0005]

The above is seen after you encrypt the hard disk, activate, restart the system, and provide your authentication details at preboot.

NOTE: The error is also displayed when trying to answer any recovery questions.

Cause

Fast BIOS mode is enabled.

Solution

You must access the BIOS and disable Fast BIOS.
