Removable Media Protection (with offsite access) 5.x For details of FRP supported environments, see KB81149 - Supported platforms for File and Removable Media Protection. SummaryBackground details regarding FRP USB Media Protection Options described in this article:
ProblemAfter configuring the FRP Removable Media policy to Removable Media, the administrator is unable to set the Protected Area of a managed USB device to less than 8 GB.
CauseWhen you select the Protected Area option for Entire Device, the administrator is restricted to a minimum and maximum value in the field except when device is greater than to the following:
SolutionThis behavior is expected with the current releases. This setting is for large devices for which encryption can take a long time, and hence exemption by size improves the performance. With current USB device sizes, it was considered unlikely that customers would want to configure a device with a size less than 8 GB to be exempted.
NOTE: The options covered in this article have no bearing on the minimum device size that can be encrypted with FRP. FRP can encrypt any device size. Affected ProductsLanguages:This article is available in the following languages: |
