How to run NewAlertGen.bat on the Trellix IPS Manager

Summary

This article describes how to generate alerts in the real-time Threat Analyzer in the Trellix IPS Manager software.

Stop the Manager service. Click the Manager icon in the notification area and select Stop manager.
Click Start, Run, type cmd and press Enter.
Navigate to the install directory.
Type CD <installation path>\App\config\ and press Enter.
Take a backup of the ems.properties configuration file.
Open the ems.properties file in a text editor of your choice and uncomment the line iv.core.rawalert.port=8554 by removing the pound symbols (##).
Start the Manager Service. Click the Manager icon in the notification area and click Start manager.
Click Start, Run, type cmd and press Enter.
Change the directory to the AlertGen folder. Type CD <installation path>\diag\AlertGen and press Enter.
Type NewAlertGen.bat and press Enter. You see a pop-up window.
Configure the type of attacks that you want to see and how many. When you've finished specifying the attack information, click send alert.
