To change the cache setting, change the
ems.properties file as follows:
- Open the Manager ems.properties file in a plain text editor. Default location:
<install drive>:\<installation directory>\config\ems.properties
- Locate the setting for SigFileSegmentCacheEnabled.
- Remove "#" from the beginning of the line.
- Save the file.
- Restart the Manager Service. In the notification area, right-click the Manager icon and select Restart.
This change stops the Manager from using the cache when it compiles a signature file. As a result, it can negatively affect the time that it takes to compile the signature. For example, to create an All Inclusive With Audit policy signature file on the M-2850 sensor:
- 1 minute 20 seconds for signature file push with cache enabled (default)
- 4 minutes 30 seconds for signature file push with cache disabled (no "#")
NOTE: The time to compile varies based on your policy, Manager server performance, Sensor model, and other factors.
