To configure a proxy for your DAM or DVM server:
- Stop the Database Activity Monitor Server service.
- Open the Installation_Directory>\conf\server-custom.properties file in an editor of your choice.
- Add the following entries:
server.info.UPDATES.updates.proxy.host=<Proxy IP>
server.info.UPDATES.updates.proxy.port=<Proxy Port>
NOTE: <Proxy IP> is the IP address of the Proxy Server and <Proxy Port> is the port associated with the Proxy server.
- If the proxy requires authentication, add the following two parameters:
server.info.UPDATES.updates.proxy.user=<Proxy USER>
server.info.UPDATES.updates.proxy.pswd=<Proxy PASSWORD>
You can enter the password in plain text or encrypted text. We recommend that you use an encrypted password.
To encrypt the password, do the following:
- On Windows:
- Run a command prompt as Administrator.
- Open the folder <Installation_Directory>\bin
- Run migration_tool.bat and select ‘encrypt’.
- Enter the password to be encrypted.
- Copy the encrypted password output (including the prefix ‘enc:’) into the server-customer.properties file.
- On Linux:
- Open the folder <Installation_Directory>/bin.
- Run migration_tool.bat and select ‘encrypt’.
- Enter the password to be encrypted.
- Copy the encrypted password output (including the prefix ‘enc:’) into the server-customer.properties file.
- Start the Database Activity Monitor Server service.
