File and Removable Media Protection (FRP) 5.x Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Problem 1
Files uploaded directly to SharePoint are decrypted when FRP is installed. If the FRP keys are unloaded, SharePoint complains about the file name because FRP changes the file name. If you exclude
Problem 2
When you try to upload encrypted files to a SharePoint location through a mapped drive, it results in an error condition.
Cause
FRP can't communicate with the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server because it's a web-based document management system. SharePoint uses socket communication for all file operations instead of Windows I/O file operations. Because of this design, the Content Encryption file system filter driver isn't invoked in SharePoint file operations. In addition, the encrypted data is uploaded in plain text. NOTE: Any file that's transferred over HTTP can suffer these same issues. SolutionFRP can't support the upload of encrypted files to SharePoint through mapped shares.
