IMPORTANT:
Before you make changes to the database, ensure that you have taken an all table backup. For guidance on the backup, see the "Using the database admin tool" section of the NSP Manager Administration Guide for your release. When you have completed the backup, then perform the following solution.
NOTE: The following process removes any data contained within the packet log table.
- On the Manager, go to <Manager Installation Directoy>/db/mysql.
- Using a text editor, open alert_schema.sql.
- Copy the contents of alert_schema.sql starting from the line:
CREATE TABLE iv_packetlog
To the line:
CREATE INDEX packetlog_creationTime_ix ON iv_packetlog(creationTime);
- Paste the contents into a new text file.
Save the file as packetlog.sql in the root directory on the Manager (C:\).
- Click the Manager taskbar icon and select Stop Manager.
- Click Start, Run, type cmd, and click OK.
- Change directory to the $mysql\bin install path:
cd c:\Program Files\McAfee\Network Security Manager\MySQL\bin
- Use the following syntax to log on to the MySQL database:
mysql -u[USERNAME] -p[PASSWORD] lf
- At the mysql prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
drop table iv_packetlog;
source c:/packetlog.sql ;
This command runs the script and creates the table with its index.
