Unable to modify Trellix Application and Change Control registry in update mode

Environment

Trellix Application and Change Control (TACC) 8.4.0 and later

Problem

After deploying TACC 8.4.0, users are unable to modify the TACC registry values in Update mode.

Solution

This is an enhancement done in TACC 8.4.0 for the TACC registry keys in Update mode.

Workaround

We don't recommend changing the default setting of integrity protection. But, for the scenarios where it's needed, follow the below mentioned steps to disable integrity in Update mode.

For ePO-managed client:

Create a Run Command Client task to execute the command below:

sadmin config set customerconfig = <enter value>

NOTE: To disable integrity in Update mode, add 512 to the current customerconfig value.
For example, if customerconfig = 73882, add 512, which equals 74394.
Reboot the client.
Once the machine boots, it'll disable integrity in update mode.

For standalone deployment:

Open the command prompt and execute the command below:

sadmin config set customerconfig = <enter value>

NOTE: To disable integrity in Update mode, add 512 to the current customerconfig value.
For example, if customerconfig = 73882, add 512, which equals 74394.
Reboot the client.
Once the machine boots, it'll disable integrity in update mode.
