ePO services may be left behind after uninstalling ePO

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10.x

Problem

After you upgrade from ePO 5.10 Update 15 or earlier to ePO 5.10 Service Pack 1, if you uninstall ePO, the following services may be left behind:

Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Application Server
Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Event Parser service
Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Server
Trellix Mobile Plugin Service

If you uninstall ePO to complete a disaster recovery, it may cause the re-installation of ePO to fail, indicating that one or more of the desired ports are in use.

System Change

You upgraded from ePO 5.10 Update 15 or earlier to ePO 5.10 Service Pack 1, and then uninstalled ePO.

Cause

The uninstall tries to remove services that use an older name.

Solution

This issue will be resolved in a future update of ePO.

Workaround

To resolve the issue, you can manually remove the services using the following instructions:

Open an elevated command prompt.
Run the following commands:

sc delete EPOAHAPACHESRV
sc delete EPOEVENTPARSERSRV
sc delete EPOTOMCATSRV5100
sc delete MobilePluginService
Restart the ePO Server.
