Removal of McAfee Agent (Linux) on next agent-server communication fails

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10.x
McAfee Agent (MA) for Linux 5.6.3 and later

Problem

Unable to uninstall MA on one or more selected systems after making the changes below in the ePO console:

Selecting System Tree Actions, Directory Management, Delete
Enabling the option Remove McAfee Agent on next agent-server communication

After completing the above actions, the selected record is correctly deleted from the system tree. But, the agent uninstall.sh script isn’t invoked on the selected Linux system. The system is then added back into the ePO System Tree as a new system during the next Agent-to-Server Communication Interval.

Cause

The stored procedure EPOSP_DeleteLeafNodeSet is used for tagging nodes where agent uninstall needs to be taken. The node deletion selection incorrectly identifies LINUX as an unsupported operating system. As a result, the Agent Uninstall Command isn’t sent to any Linux system selected for deletion.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePO 5.10.0 Update 14, which is available from either the Software Catalog or the Product Downloads site.

Workaround

We investigated this issue and a Proof of Concept (POC) Build is currently available to resolve the issue. To obtain the POC Build, log on to the ServicePortal and create a Service Request. Include this article number in the Problem Description field.
