The McAfee Agent installation process fails on Windows platforms. The issue is seen when the installation or data directories are configured to be case sensitive. The administrator must enable this option as part of the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). The McAfee Agent does not support being installed in directories that have case-sensitivity, an option specific to the WSL.
Solution
If WSL is in use in the environment, confirm that both the installation folder, and data directories are not set to case-sensitive, before installing the McAfee Agent. The default installation and data directories for Windows installations are: Installation directory:
