Macmnsvc crashes on TLOS Data Exchange Layer Brokers

McAfee Agent (MA) 5.7.2, 5.7.2, 5.7.1, 5.6.4 and later

Trellix Linux Operating System (TLOS)

Problem

The macmnsvc service can crash on TLOS Data Exchange Layer brokers when they're configured to act as a SuperAgent Distributed Repository.

The issue is seen on SuperAgent Distributed Repositories that use LazyCaching.

The errors below are recorded in the macmnsvc_computername.log file:

http_server.Debug: ma_http_connection_t(0x1f26ae0)::destroy()
http_server.Debug: ma_http_repository_handler_t(0x1f366c0) release
network.Debug: curl perform cb called with event 1
http_server.Debug: Current state of file </Current/AMCORDAT2000/DAT/0000/content-00010006-004004-dat.zip> cache object - <3>

NOTE: The issue described in this article has only been observed on TLOS DLX brokers. But, it might be possible to experience a similar macmnsvc crash on any system configured to act as a SuperAgent Distributed Repository.

Solution

This issue is resolved in McAfee Agent 5.7.3. This version is available from either the ePO Software Manager or the Product Downloads site.
