Summary
A new TrickBot functionality was discovered with the ability to probe the UEFI/BIOS firmware on targeted devices. The module, known as "Trickboot," checks if the BIOS is unlocked and can be modified by using the RwDrv.sys driver from the RWEverything tool. A successful infection could allow an attacker to perform a range of tasks including corrupting the UEFI firmware, disabling OS-level security controls, embedding malicious code in the firmware, and taking control of devices all at once.

Minimum set of Manual Rules to improve protection to block this campaign
IMPORTANT: Always follow best practices when you enable new rules and signatures.
When you implement new rules or signatures, always set them to Report mode first and check the alerts generated. Resolve any issues that arise and then set the rules to Block. This step mitigates against triggering false positives and allows you to refine your configuration.
