Security for Microsoft Exchange (SME) 8.x

Summary

This support statement is provided by the Product Management Team.

Antispam content within the antispam module of SME is being deprecated, starting January 15, 2022.

The last update of antispam content is set for January 15, 2022.

What it means to you as a customer:

If you do not use the SME antispam feature, there's no impact with this content deprecation announcement. You can continue using SME with regular DAT files, product updates, and upgrades.
If you use the SME antispam feature:
- The last antispam content update is set for January 15, 2022.
- Although the antispam function will continue to work, its efficacy will reduce over time, with no new content being made available.

NOTE: The components listed below continue to function as normal after antispam content is deprecated:

Regular DAT updates continue to keep your environment safe.
Global Threat Intelligence (GTI) IP reputation features.
Email spoofing features.
