Scheduled custom on-demand scan task doesn't run after upgrade

Environment

Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.7.0, 10.6.1

Problem

After one of the following upgrades, scheduled custom on-demand scan (ODS) tasks don't run.

ENS 10.5.x to 10.6.1
ENS 10.5.x to 10.7.0
ENS 10.6.x to 10.7.0

This issue has been observed on systems where the "Custom On-Demand Scan" client task is assigned via ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).

Solution

This issue is resolved in McAfee Agent 5.7.2.

Workaround

After upgrades, make any arbitrary change to the custom ODS task and save it. The change to the task allows the task to run as expected.

For example, you can apply a change using the following steps:

Log on to the ePO console.
Click Menu, Client Tasks, Client Task Catalog.
From Client Task Types, select Endpoint Security Threat Prevention, Custom On-Demand Scan.
Click the name of an existing client task.
Add any text to the Description field and click Save. The task is sent to the clients at the next agent-server communication.
