Summary
We announce the End of Life (EOL) for the following ePO versions. As of the EOL date, we no longer support the product version. We strongly recommend that customers upgrade to the latest version of the product to ensure continued support.
NOTE: See also the Performance Optimizer End of Life article: KB93287 - End of Life for Performance Optimizer 2.x, 1.x. Frequently Asked Questions General What are the migration paths?
We recommend that you migrate to Trellix ePO-SaaS. This product is our next-generation SaaS platform, which allows you to remove infrastructure and operational overhead. Trellix ePO-SaaS focuses on what requires your attention the most. If ePO-SaaS isn't a current option for your organization, we recommend that you upgrade to ePO 5.10 on-premises or in IaaS. ePO 5.10 was released in August 2018. We recommend that you upgrade and apply the latest cumulative update. If you're unsure if ePO-SaaS is right for you, or whether it supports your existing deployment, contact Technical Support or your Account Team. For supported platforms, see the following articles: Does the EOL include update levels?
Yes. All update levels of ePO 5.9.x are included.
Why are these products EOL?
We strive to evolve our solutions to meet our customers’ needs. We develop solutions to support our customers on their cloud adoption journey and operational streamlining. ePO-SaaS and ePO 5.10 include the capabilities needed to address customers’ security outcomes, while supporting adoption of a cloud service. These capabilities include highly requested features and supportability with the following:
The above provide customers comprehensive threat intelligence, management, stability, and scalability, all on one of the industry’s most trusted cybersecurity management solutions.
With the EOL of Tomcat version 7 and the need to upgrade the version of Tomcat in use with ePO, we take this opportunity to sunset our older version of on-premises ePO. The focus is now to support investment in our latest SaaS, IaaS, and on-prem releases. When I stop using the products in this EOL announcement, will all personal data collected in association with these products be deleted?
ePO 5.9.x is an on-prem solution, which means that it resides within an infrastructure our customers choose. With this implementation model, most data associated with these products is wholly under the direct ownership of our customers. The deletion of associated data is within our customers’ control. Any personal data we’ve collected in association with these products is deleted when it's no longer in use by our customers.
Can I request that my company’s data be deleted at a certain time?
We follow current GDPR guidelines and our formal GDPR product statements are available for review. For guidance on deleting personal data or to obtain the GDPR documentation, contact Support or your sales representative.
I want to move to cloud or SaaS management. What options do I have?
You can move to ePO-SaaS or Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) ePO.
See the following resources about migrating from ePO on-prem to ePO-SaaS.
To determine if you're entitled to ePO-SaaS, contact your sales representative.
Not yet ready to move to cloud or SaaS managed ePO? Continue to stay with ePO on-prem and upgrade to ePO 5.10.
Are all products supported in ePO-SaaS?
For supported products, see KB90875 - Supported platforms for Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS. Upgrading to ePO 5.10 Are there best practices to upgrading an on-premises ePO infrastructure that I can follow?
