Endpoint Security (ENS) 10.7.x Microsoft Windows Defender content older than 1.295.49.0 ProblemWhen Windows Defender has content older than 1.295.49.0, it might generate a false-positive on one or more ENS installation files. As a result, the installation or upgrade of ENS fails or only partially succeeds.
In an upgrade scenario, some ENS modules might have successfully installed before the false-positive, which causes a mix of ENS versions to be reported. For example, ENS Firewall and Web Control report 10.7 but Threat Prevention reports 10.6.1. Cause
If Windows Defender content is older than 1.295.49.0, Trellix files might be falsely detected as malware. The action taken by Windows Defender impacts the ENS installation or upgrade.
Solution
After you update the Windows Defender content or disable Windows Defender, the next attempt to install or upgrade ENS might succeed. If not, the failed installation might require removal first.
Workaround
Before the install or upgrade of ENS, make sure that Windows Defender content is current or that Windows Defender is disabled.
