To minimize the possibility of either issue described above, take the following preventative measure shortly before an ePO upgrade to avoid Tomcat failing to stop.
IMPORTANT: Perform this procedure only when you're ready to start the upgrade:
- Stop the ePO Server services and set to a manual start:
- Type services.msc into the field and press Enter.
- Right-click each of the following ePO services and select Stop:
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator #.#.# Application Server
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator #.#.# Event Parser
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator #.#.# Server
- Set all three ePO services to manual start.
- Right-click ePolicy Orchestrator Application Server Service and click Start.
- Close the services window.
- Confirm that you can log on to the ePO console.
- Start the ePO upgrade.
When the upgrade is successful, set all ePO services back to
automatic start.
