Windows Security Center reports Endpoint Security is disabled when Endpoint Security is running

Environment

Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.6.1 December Update (and later)

Microsoft Windows Security Center (WSC)

Problem

WSC reports that ENS is disabled. WSC can prompt to enable Windows Defender.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ENS 10.6.1 May 2020 Update.

Workaround

There are no reports of this issue with Windows 10 Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) and later.
