System details in the System Tree are empty

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10.0 Update 3 and 4

Problem

After you install ePO 5.10.0 cumulative Update 3, the System Tree details for a computer are empty.

The following error message displays in the console:

An error occurred while retrieving the requested data (English console)
Beim Aufrufen der angeforderten Daten ist ein Fehler aufgetreten (German console)
Une erreur c'est produite lors de l'extraction des données demandées (French console)

The Orion.log file records the following errors:

ERROR [http-nio-8443-exec-4] systemdetail.SystemPropertiesProvider - Error in SystemDetails2, The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.

134260 java.sql.SQLException: The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.

134261 at net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.SQLDiagnostic.addDiagnostic(SQLDiagnostic.java:373)

System Change

You installed ePO 5.10 Update 3 or 4.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Update 5, which is available from the Product Downloads site.

NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number to access the update.

NOTE: This issue was initially thought to be resolved with ePO 5.10 Update 4, as stated in the Update 4 Release Notes.

Workaround

Use the SQL Management Studio to change the language assigned to the user:

Log on to SQL Management Studio.
In Security, Logins, locate the user that's used to connect ePO to the SQL database.
Right-click the user and select Properties.
Change the default language to English.
