Drive Encryption (DE) 7.2.6 and earlier Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) systems Problem 1
The system doesn't boot after you apply Windows updates that contain updated Microsoft UEFI boot loader files. During startup, a Windows recovery screen is displayed, with the following error message: is missing or contains errors: File: \windows\system32\winload.efi. Error code: 0xc0000225 Your PC needs to be repaired. Error code: 0xc000022 Problem 2
The issue is seen on systems where the disk or volume layout has changed. The change is in such a way that the following path no longer points to the correct hard-disk volume of the EFI system partition: ReparseDst = \Device\HarddiskVolume1\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi Cause
Two situations have been identified that can cause the registry to become incorrect:

The Issue is resolved with DE 7.2.7 and later. Issue resolutions in updates and major releases are cumulative; Technical Support recommends that you install the latest version. To find the most recent release for your product, go to the Product Downloads site.
