Summary
When using an Opal Drive in a system configured as Legacy BIOS, the drive must have the supported firmware version installed that's listed in KB81136 - Drive Encryption support for Opal drives. To verify the version of firmware installed, follow one of the methods below. Solution 1

The model drive is listed under the Caption column, and the firmware version is listed under the

Device Manager method: NOTE: The Device Manager method only displays the last four characters of the firmware version. This method doesn't provide enough information to determine if the version of firmware is supported. If more specific versioning information is needed, follow Solution 1.
