Requirements:
- Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) v4 or later with WinPE installed.
- Extract WinPE using the copype command from the folder where the Windows ADK is installed, utilizing the Deployment and Imaging Tools Environment command prompt.
- Copy and extract the DETech Emergency Recovery Tool package onto the same computer.
To install DETech or DEOpalTech onto the WinPE image, type the following from a command prompt:
WinPe_tech.cmd <winpe_root> <architecture> <encryption_provider>
Here:
- winpe_root — Path where the WinPE is extracted via copype.cmd.
- Architecture — 32 or 64
- encryption_provider — pc or opal
To unmount and discard the previously mounted image, type the following from a command prompt:
WinPe_tech.cmd unmount
NOTE: After running the script, it'll return a path to the image. For example,
C:\winpe\amd64.
We recommend that you use the
MakeWinPEMedia.cmd that comes with Windows ADK to create bootable media, which is used for recovery purposes.
