Trellix Active Response (TAR) 2.x

Summary

On endpoints that use a 64-bit Linux operating system, you must install compatible 32-bit libraries before you deploy the TAR client. The libraries are needed for successful installation and product function.

Problem

When you try to install the TAR client, it fails to complete and rolls back. You see the following error in the Data Exchange Layer installation log:

Installing MFEdx-3.1.0-593.i686.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++(x86-32) is needed by MFEdx-3.1.0-593.i686

You also see the following error in the ePolicy Orchestrator Threat Event Log report:

DXL_INSTALLATION_FAILED = 16

Solution

To install the 32-bit libraries, run the following commands on your Linux 64-bit endpoint, with sudo rights:

yum install libstdc++.i686
yum install libgcc.i686
yum install libgcc.x86_64
yum install libstdc++.x86_64

After you install the libraries, install the TAR client on the endpoint.
